Nick Dove

Nick Dove studied biochemistry at Cambridge University. He subsequently obtained a Unilever Award for his postgraduate work in physiology and was an author of articles in learned journals. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1996.

In 1996 he joined UBS, becoming one of their leading bank equity analysts and an Executive Director. He is expert in the analysis of project cash flows, financial statements and ratings processes. His special interests include bank regulation, statistical techniques and modelling impacts.

Dr. Dove has advised top management of listed companies on strategy, communications and equity issuance, and senior fund managers on stock and sector investment strategy. His publications include ‘Detecting shareholder value in French banks’ (2000); ‘Eurobanks analyser’ (2001); ‘The future of asset management in Europe’ (2002). Dr. Dove's team was ranked best European all-sector research team 2001 by fund managers (Reuters) and he also achieved high personal rankings.

Since entering the consultancy field Dr. Dove is specialising in advising development agencies, especially those in emerging markets and those engaged in promoting inward investment. Since July 2005 he has been project manager of a high-level study group based in UK looking at the impact of mineral extraction on the economy of Kazakhstan. He is also providing strategic advice to a number of developing country clients. Dr. Dove speaks French and conversational Spanish.
