Fred Horbeek was Head of Security Co-ordination at Rabobank Group until 2003. This function was effectively responsible for the management of operational risks, including all aspects of information security; all aspects of combating fraud, errors and mistakes and other incidents; and all aspects of combating money laundering. His functional responsibilities included risk analysis and assessment, prevention, (awareness) training, investigation, recovery and continuity planning, privacy, crisis management, the application of and compliance with related laws and regulations and the evaluation and reporting.
Mr. Horbeek was a member of the Information Security Forum (ISF) and the International Integrity Information Institute (I-4) as well. Co-chair of the (ISC)² European Advisory Board, visiting professor at Groningen University, former member of the Executive Board and active member of other industry organizations, including the Dutch Society for Information Security. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Comsec Consulting B.V., the European subsidiary of Comsec Information Security Ltd. Prior to joining Rabobank, he served in the Dutch armed forces and in the National Security Service.
